CANUTE S. THOMPSON, PhD; CMC

Canute is a Leadership Coach, Equity Advocate, and Certified Management Consultant.  He is the co-founder and Chief Consultant of the Caribbean Leadership Re-Imagination Initiative (CLRI), a Unit of the Centre for Leadership and Governance, as well as Head of the Caribbean Centre for Educational Planning, of which he was the lead concept developer.  He is also co-founder of the Jamaica Chapter of the Caribbean Institute of Certified Management Consultants (CICMC).

Canute is Senior Lecturer in Educational Policy, Planning, and Leadership in the School of Education. He has also lectured in other faculties of The UWI and other tertiary institutions across Jamaica. His areas of expertise include:

As a management consultant, Canute has spearheaded projects such as the merger of the Island Special Constabulary Force and the Jamaica Constabulary Force, and the establishment of the Institute of Forensic Science and Legal Medicine, and various leadership development projects across the Caribbean (See CV ).

Canute holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Administration which he received with High Commendation.  He has received several other awards (See Awards ) in addition to holding an M.A. (Hons.) in Ethics from Eden Theological Seminary, a postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies, and a B.A. (Hons) in Theology (with Social Sciences), from the UWI.
